Kannavouri plants were plentiful in the fields around the village, and were used to make rope, string, nets and other similar materials.
While in the area a visit to the Kannaviou Dam where the forest of Paphos also starts is also well worth the trip.

Farming and agriculture is still a big industry in this part of the Paphos district, where the land in the Ezousa Valley is still very fertile.

 Exiting Kannaviou Village on the main road to Polemi you pass a water feature, memorial, picnic area and millstone.
